Crash Media runs a hosted business phone system built on FS PBX (an actively developed fork of FusionPBX) and FreeSWITCH. Each company we host gets its own private phone system on the shared platform, with its own extensions, phone numbers, voicemail and text messaging.

What you get

Feature Details
Extensions Every person or phone gets a 4-digit extension. Call other extensions in your company by dialling the number.
Your phone numbers Calls to your business numbers ring an extension, or several phones at once (a ring group).
Outbound calls Call any North American number from your extension. The caller ID shows your business number.
Voicemail A personal voicemail box per extension, optionally emailed to you when a message arrives.
Text messaging (SMS) Send and receive texts from your business number, in the softphone app or the web portal.
Works anywhere Use a softphone app on your mobile or computer, in the office or on the road.

Guides

  • Set up a softphone: connect Groundwire (or another SIP app) to your extension.
  • Voicemail: check messages, record greetings, change your PIN.
  • Feature codes: the star codes for call forwarding, do not disturb and more.

Your account details

Your administrator gives you:

  • your extension number (for example 2001);
  • your company's server address, which looks like voip.yourcompany.ca;
  • your extension's SIP password, for the softphone app;
  • your voicemail PIN.
