Owner
Welcome! Crash Media is small startup IT company that was started in 2018. Having grown up with around computers, and gaming much like other children of the 90’s, something seemed to spark in our owner Ryan McDermaid.
At a young age Ryan loved gaming, and with that it began the need to learn more about computers. He began learning to build and service computers at the age of 10, and his passion kept growing from there.
Finishing up his schooling Ryan knew he wanted a career in technology. Taking an unconventional route to obtain his experience, he got his first IT job at the age of 22 working for a well-known tech company in the Ottawa area.
Ryan quickly proved that not only could help solve the company’s internal IT issues that came up day to day, but that he could improve the entire infrastructure.
Improving all systems for the company, introducing new ways to manage all the IT infrastructure and bringing in applications to begin automating many functions of the department.
Working with and older infrastructure over the next few years, nearly all pieces were slowly upgraded.
Beginning with the firewalls, and network switches all the hardware was changed over to a more modern and reliable system. With the company taking off it also meant it was time for expansion.
Being more of a mobile tech company Ryan also ensured he was kept up to date in this area. Quickly becoming SOTI Mobi control certified.
Time for a change it was time to move to a bigger company and see who else could use his expertise. Working for one the largest real estate companies in the world, he has begun to the IT mentality with his new company. With many systems being outdated, it was time for an entire infrastructure rebuild. This meant all new network switches, firewalls and even an entirely new phone system. All this being done in just a few short months of starting.
With this complete it was time to start his own company, so that he could help others, improve their infrastructures.
